A message from the organizer of the event, Anthony James Currie:
The Blue Water Allies Center opened their doors as a 24 hour warming shelter during the last two cold snaps here in Port Huron. They did this out of the kindness of their hearts, seeing only one other shelter open their doors for people to stay during those cold nights.
I had the extraordinary honor of volunteering during the last time they opened, and that experience changed me as a person. When people entered those doors it didn't matter who they where or where they were on life's journey. They were welcome and loved there. I had never felt the unconditional love and care shared with my neighbors the way I did. Everyone was there to help and care for each other.
